Good Evening Families, It is truly amazing how quick our year has gone by.  Today was such an exciting day in school.  For the first time we had an all day STEM day, please ask them how much we learned today.  There are many exciting events coming up in the month of May.  The end of the year will be here before we know it.  Please remember to check your folders nightly and this will officially be the last week of homework.  Although we encourage you to continue to read nightly and keep up the practice with math and reading with Redbird and Compass Learning.  Enjoy the weekend and Happy Mother's Day.

Good Afternoon Families,
We are still in the midst of our school's lock down for our older grades taking the Milestones.  I am very impressed with our focus, patience and flexibility as we have changed our day quite a bit to accommodate our testing friends. 

Please know that our school carnival is just around the corner, April 29th.  The class with the most parent volunteers for the day will receive a popsicle party.  Please consider volunteering. 

If you have not returned spring pictures, please make sure to do so as soon as possible.

Welcome Back Families!  It was great to have everyone back.  I hope you spent the time resting and enjoying each other's company.  We are in the final stretch for school.  It is quite amazing how fast our year has been.  Please continue to support your child nightly reading.  We are working to end 1st grade reading at a J level.  Many of our friends have surpassed this goal and that is awesome.  Remember for the next couple weeks April 12th-April 27th, we ask that you limit pulling your child from school for appointments during the hours of testing (8:20-11:15am).  We want to maintain the best testing environment for our other friends at school. 


Spring pictures have gone home today.  Please return the pictures if you are not interested in ordering any of them.

Good Afternoon Families,
Yesterday was a great day.  I hope your children talked your ear off about the aquarium.  Today we sent home our plants to continue with our observations over the break and ensure that they will grow.  I hope everyone has a safe and restful spring break.  School will resume on April 11th.

Good Afternoon Families, I hope you enjoyed the weekend.  So many of our friends came in today and shared their stories of hunting for eggs.  It was excited to hear all about your weekend.  Just a few reminders.  We will be going to the field trip on Thursday.  A special thanks to Nada, Amy, Briana, and Noelani for escorting us to the Aquarium.  Students should wear comfy shoes (tennis shoes) as we will be walking around a lot.  Please remember if you marked lunch from home to bring one.  We will be eating our snack on the bus so please be sure that your snack is peanut free.  Next week is spring break, no school.  Please enjoy this time to relax and recharge your battery.

Good Afternoon Families, This week is flying by so fast.  I hope you had the opportunity to ask your kids about our water molecule lab and our snowman lab that we had this week. 


Our field trip is around the corner so please be on the look out for this.  We are going to the Aquarium on March 31st.  I will be looking for 4 chaperones to go.  I will take names and put them in a hat and have another teacher draw them out.
